MASKED ONES

"Masked Ones" is a profound body of work that delves into the indigenous traditional masking culture prevalent in the Sulgen community of the Schwartzwald (Black Forest), Germany. Focusing on the local Fasnet ritual, the project unveils historical figures and mythological characters revered by the community during this centuries-old tradition, which involves ceremoniously banishing winter demons. 
Through careful exploration and documentation, "Masked Ones" takes an in-depth look at the profound significance of masks and their connection to traditions and identity.
